The "Museum System of the University of Pavia" was formed in January 2005 with the aim of bringing together all the museums and collections of the University of Pavia.

In particular, the University hosts:

    University History Museum, University of Pavia.
Two main sections, that of medicine and that of Physics. The route through the exhibition of the "tools" used by the great masters of the past, witness the evolution of the study
and the teaching of these sciences.

    The Museum of Natural History.
Constituted for educational purposes by Lazzaro Spallanzani in 1771 thanks to a core group of minerals sent as a gift from the Empress Maria Theresa of Austria. The section of mineralogy and zoology was added in 1778 that of comparative anatomy. The fame of the Museum, who already in 1780 had more than 24,000 specimens, inspired the poet and mathematician Lorenzo Mascheroni some verses of didactic poem "Invitation to Lesbia Cidonia".
    The Museum of Electrical Technology.
Established in 2006, thanks to the valuable contributions of Edison, Enel and many companies in the sector. Permanent tribute to Alessandro Volta (inventor of the electric battery, professor and rector of the University), presents the historical heritage of electrical technology and its impact on all aspects of everyday life from the past to present electricity.

    The Museum of Mineralogy.
Houses collections of minerals, rocks and fossils from the most famous Italian and foreign locations. The museum has about 10,000 pieces and is divided into two sections, Mineralogy-Petrography and Geology-Paleontology.
  
 Camillo Golgi Museum
established in 2012 and dedicated to the figure of Camillo Golgi (1843-1926) Nobel Prize for Medicine and inventor of the black reaction histological method, which is considered the basis of modern neuroscience.
  
 The Museum of Archaeology
It includes didactic collections from different periods (from prehistory to late antiquity), including a small Egyptian section. The exhibits include sculptures, capitals, vases and coins. The first nucleus of the collection was formed by Professor of Archaeology, Pier Vittorio Aldini in 1819. The Museum is housed in the ancient Hospital San Matteo Cruise room that can be reached through the transition between the Magnolia Courtyard and the Courtyard Sforzesco.
   
The Botanical Garden.
Founded in the second half of the eighteenth century. It covers an area of ​​about 2 hectares and includes greenhouses, the historic building and the arboretum dedicated to the collections of live plants outdoors. The collections are partly thematic and partly representative of geographical areas. The oldest greenhouse is dedicated to the first director of the Museum, Antonio Scopoli. the original structure remains a plane tree 45 meters high, whose circumference at the base exceeds 7 meters.
